Ukraine civilian casualties hit highest monthly level since May 2022

Intensified Russian long-range strikes across Ukraine have pushed civilian deaths to their highest level since shortly after the 2022 invasion, according to United Nations figures.

Russian strikes killed at least one person and wounded 15 in Kramatorsk, with further injuries in Zaporizhzhia.
The United Nations reports that civilian deaths in Ukraine last month reached the highest level since May 2022.
Passenger trains have recently come under fire during Moscow's stepped-up long-range attacks.
